LUMI has been active in the Chinese market for several years now, both on the wholesale and retail sides, during which time we have built out a solid base from which to launch a more ambitions expansion in the years to come.
We are especially excited to see a growing interest in more independent and progressive designer labels, as a younger generation of Chinese are turning away from traditional luxury brands, and towards lesser known labels. The emphasis now is on understatement and quality, and most especially, on having knowledge of, and access to, brands that are not yet well known. The ultimate luxury, in other words, is to buy and wear what everyone else will be buying and wearing next year.
These developments align perfectly with our own emphasis on high quality, understated design.
