Paris au Cinéma
For various reasons, and at various points in our lives, we have spent some time in small apartments in Paris, looking out over the rooftops and back courtyards of the city. While the city of light is famous for its grand boulevards, monuments and museums, we have always preferred these more intimate, hidden views, behind the city’s outward and gleaming façade.

The light, the depth, the textures, the sounds and silences are all somehow amplified from this more contained and framed point of view. For this is where the real Parisian life is visible — all you have to do is look out your window, directly into the living rooms and bedrooms of your fellow neighbors.
We admit, it is a little voyeuristic, almost cinematic, in its appeal, and reminds us of one our favorite scenes, from one of our favorite films, Breathless. Jean Seberg and Jean-Paul Belmondo may be adorable, but it is when Seberg opens the window, that the real star, and some much needed fresh air, enters the room.
